Microcurrent ElectroTherapy

Pain Syndromes can develop from trauma, repetitive movement,
chronic inflammation, poor posture, various musculoskeletal conditions, as well as degenerative diseases like arthritis and fibromyalgia.

Acupuncture is a clinically effective approach to relieving pain.

Acupuncture points act as highly conductive amplifiers to boost and regulate the flow of Qi, or vital energy, in order to alleviate stasis, relax muscles, reduce inflammation, and relieve pain.

Microcurrent ElectroTherapy(MET) is an adjunct modality
in the treatment of pain. When an injury occurs, trauma causes local congestion and inflammation.  This reduces the electrical conductivity in the area and affects cellular repair.

MET is a gentle therapeutic approach that works with the bioelectrical potential of the body to promote the healing of injured tissues.

Using subtle currents, MET restores the function of the bioelectrical pathways so as to increase cell membrane transport and reduce levels of inflammation.

This accelerates the healing process.

Pain syndromes that respond well to Acupuncture and MET include:

  • Back pain
  • Sciatica
  • Neck pain
  • Joint pain
  • Sports injuries
  • Arthritis
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Repetitive Movement Syndrome
  • Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy
  • Neuralgia
  • GastroIntestinal pain
  • Shingles

At Acupuncture Arts East, we use the Acutron Mentor ElectroMedical device.

Hip Pain

"Thank you so very much for relieving the pain in my hip. I had been on anti-inflammatory medication and had been going to physical therapy for nine months with absolutely no relief. I was diagnosed with sciatica, a bulging disk and bursitis of the hip. After the first acupuncture treatment I slept well and was pain-free most of the night! I thought it was all in my mind but after that it has only gotten better with each treatment. I now sleep all night without pain, the first time in over a year! Thank you for introducing me to a whole new concept in medical care."

Shoulder Pain

"I began to experience pain in my right shoulder after doing a rigorous workout program over a period of time. My doctor diagnosed bursitis and prescribed pain killers and said to keep the shoulder mobile. I continued to work out but was limited due to pain. I did not like taking medication because it made me drowsy and was not totally effective. I soon discontinued using them and lived with the pain. After a few months, I developed severe pain in both shoulders.

Someone at the club recommended Susan Kane for acupuncture treatment. I noticed results after the first treatment and the majority of my pain was gone after only three treatments. Needless to say, I was ecstatic! We continued for a series of ten treatments and the pain was totally gone! It was amazing and I was back to the strong workouts that I hadn't been able to accomplish for over a year. A few treatments spaced out over the following weeks were all I needed and I have not experienced a recurrence of symptoms since. I highly recommend acupuncture, especially with Susan, if you are experiencing health problems of any nature. Joint pain is but one area that can be helped by acupuncture treatments."

Facial Neuralgia

"Five years ago I ended up with neuralgia in my face. The pain was so unbearable that when the nerve started to spasm it would drop me to my knees and I would pray to God to help me with the pain. No doctors could help me with that pain. I even went to dentists to have teeth removed but they could not find any problem with my teeth. I was at the end of my rope with pain and I was ready to have the whole nerve removed from the side of my face. Then I came to Susan for acupuncture. She put those needles in my cheek and I felt a tremor go through the whole side on my face. All the pain disappeared with one treatment. Susan saved me from having teeth pulled and the nerve removed. I can't thank her enough for her concern and ability to help people in pain."
